Next Step! Africa!

Hey everyone! finally got my blog up and running. wanted to let you guys in and let you all know whats going on in la vida Benjamin.

During this last year of Ministry school at Fire School of Ministry Chicago, the Lord has really been doing a deep work in me mentally and spiritually. It's definitely been a time of joy, and much learning. I've come to the realization that I did not know as much as I thought I did (LOL). There's been a lot of purging of the old self. God has really been replacing the old with Himself and changing me within the deep places of my heart and mind. Some of the biggest areas God has been  working on is my Identity in Christ as a son of God, and what part I play in advancing the Kingdom of God in the City of Chicago and around the world.

With this said, the 2nd and final year itinerary for students at Fire School of Ministry Chicago is to complete a 7 to 8 week internship as a Missionary either stateside or abroad. In this way we put to use kingdom practices that we've learned and are able to experience a better training for our life in ministry.

By the many options given to the students, and with much council and prayer I've chosen to serve as a missionary in Tanzania Africa, in a town called Moshi. I will be staying with an awesome family; Lewison and Jill Omari and their clan. I am fully confident that this is where God wants me to be
!

Here are some of things that I will be participating in:
  • The Omari's have a boys home and the boys are all in their teens so I'm looking forward to building and pouring Jesus into these young men.

  • I will be working alongside Lewison who works with church families, single adults and youth. However MOSTLY with cell groups and adults.
  • Lewison also does a lot of ministry with the Masai people, so I will partake in what he is already doing with them.
I am really excited about this internship and the many things that I will learn and take away from this time. I pray that as I serve during these next few weeks the Lord would use me to bless this family and impart what is in me by the grace of God into the work that they have already begun. I want to be of service to the Omaris and create a lasting impact for the glory of God!

This is the next step in my walk with the Lord and I'm delighted to embark on it with my covenant friends and family near by. I will update my blog with weekly posts and pictures so that you to can travel with me on this journey. I pray that it will bless you as I am certain it will bless me.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT

I must to personally fund this internship and here is where I am praying that who ever can, would partner with me financially. I am needing the help of my brothers and sisters to make this trip happen. The following is a breakdown of what the trip will cost:
  • $1300 - $2000 Plane ticket to Tanzania. (*This is the most crucial need right now since without this I cannot get a Visa!*)
  •  $750 -  For the Omari Family (This assists with housing me for the two months I'm there)
  •  $100 - Visa
  •  $60 - Vaccinations

Your prayers and financial support is what will make this all come together for His glory! Thank you to all who even now are prayerfully considering how to help. All the financial support will be tax deductible. Some suggestions are 50 people committing to support me with a one time gift of $60 by January 5th, or commit to $30 a month for the months of December and January with this my internship would be fully funded! I know that these are hard times financially, but Jesus said "Seek My Kingdom & My righteousness and all else will be added" let us put our trust fully in Him who is Faithful!

Thank you so much for co-partnering with me on this Kingdom journey! The Lord continues to stretch and mold me as He helps me to apply what I've been learning this last year and a half at Fire School Chicago. I am amazed to see where the Lord has brought me thus far and am looking forward to what is to come. I pray that we will continue to fight the good fight and surrender to His will and not our own.

Thank you in Advance and may the Lord bless you and keep you abundance!

To Be Continued.....

  2. Hey Benni. Great to hear that your heading out seeking His will and His glory for His Name's sake. That the Lamb that was slain may receive the reward of His suffering. Lets go for it bro. My prayers are going with you but more important, let His Spirit go before you. Be blessed in the name of Jesus.
